NEWSLETTER SELLING TIP
Time is money
When buyers look at your newsletter, they're calculating two types of costs: the money they'll spend to run it and the time they'll invest.
The direct costs are straightforward, e.g., the monthly fee for your email platform.
But the time investment is equally important to a newsletter buyer.
How many hours do you spend researching, writing, and editing each issue?
What about the admin work like invoicing sponsors, outreach, social media posts, replying to subscribers, or managing your email list?
Are there busy months when the workload increases?
If running your newsletter takes 12 hours a week, tell buyers that upfront.
Don't try to fool them by rounding it down to make it appear easier. A buyer who thinks they're getting a low-maintenance side project will feel misled when they realize it requires serious weekly effort.
If you don't know (or have never calculated) how long each task takes, then start monitoring this now.
You might only need to do this for a month or two, but when you sell you can be completely transparent about the time needed to operate your letter.

My First Ad
This week, it’s not acquisition news; I just saw my first sponsored ad in ChatGPT. I knew it was coming; I’ve seen the Claude commercials, but I was shocked to actually see it.
Apparently it’s not open to the public yet, it’s only by invitation only. Mine must have gotten lost in the mail… 🙂
Contrary to the commercial, they state that the ad does not influence the answers. It’s so interesting to see how things are evolving, and this is only the very beginning!
Your ads ran overnight. Nobody was watching. Except Viktor.
