Hey there 👋
Happy Monday!
Most people wait until January to buy a newsletter. I think that's backwards; the back end of the year is quietly the best time to buy. Here's why, below.
Let’s get into it!
Cheers,
WHY RIGHT NOW IS A GREAT TIME TO BUY
Funny thing about buying a newsletter: most people wait until January. New year, new goals, "this is the year I finally buy one." Which is exactly why you shouldn't wait, the best window is right now, before everyone else catches on.
Here's what I see every December. Sellers get motivated. They want to close the books, clear the decks, free up some cash before the holidays, or they're just ready for the next thing. And a motivated seller is good news for a buyer: smoother deals, usually a better price.
At the same time, a lot of buyers go quiet. Everyone's busy, travelling, switched off. Less competition for the same assets means more room to negotiate and less pressure to overpay.
And prices come down. The listings that have been sitting a few months? Sellers start cutting them, because nobody wants to drag a deal into a new year. That's where the real bargains show up.
None of this changes the basics. Like I showed you last week, a fairly-priced newsletter with a real audience still sells fast. Q4 is just when more sellers get realistic about price, which is lovely if you're the one buying.
So if you've been circling a newsletter, waiting for the right moment, this is a good one. Motivated sellers, a quiet field, real deals on the table. Move now and you'll beat the January crowd.

Blu Dot surpasses 2,000% ROAS with self-serve CTV ads
Home furniture brand Blu Dot blew up on CTV with help from Roku Ads Manager. Here’s how:
After a test campaign reached 211,000 households and achieved 1,010% ROAS, the brand went all in to promote its annual sales event. It removed age and income constraints to expand reach and shifted budget to custom audiences and retargeting, where intent was strongest.
The results speak for themselves. As Blu Dot increased their investment by 10x, ROAS jumped to 2,308% and more page-view conversions surpassed 50,000.
“For CTV campaigns, Roku has been a top performer,” said Claire Folkestad, Paid Media Strategist, Blu Dot. “Comping to our other platforms, we have seen really strong ROAS… and highly efficient CPMs, lower than any other CTV partner we've worked with.”
Using Roku Ads Manager, the campaign moved from a pilot to a permanent performance engine for the brand.
